So I never thought i'd be giving a small presentation about an art piece, let alone like it, I mean i'm trying to go into engineering school, why would I like analyzing art? Maybe it's finding the patterns or the reason why behind everything, but I feel like i'm guessing what the painter meant, especially with Picasso's paintings, I mean seriously if you took some LSD and looked at that you'd see the Illuminati and 9/11 proof all in the same square inch. But I digress, this week we've learned stuff... what exactly, I don't remember... that may not be a good sign, but whatever we definitely did things that I feel helped me read my book more thorough, and completely by better understanding that Elegy in X parts, oddly enough, at least I feel that by over analyzing works can carry over to just regular understanding of other works. So maybe this wasn't the most individually memorable week, but I know everything is just building on the last, so it's an important step to keep up and not start to get senioritis early, wish me luck

The groove is starting to take hold, wake up, shower, get to school, survive, go to practice, and go home to play PubG. The circle of highschool life, but rarely in there is the time, or really want, to do homework and just rest. Of course I keep up with assignments, but falling behind is easy, so I have to keep my nose to the grindstone and keep going til five years from now when i’m out of school, and I get to be put through the meat grinder instead, fun. And so with that you can understand where i’m coming from when I talk about what we’ve learned in this week’s class, and to be completely honest it’s a lot harder to put into words than say mathematics, ironic. We get better at reading, and we get better at writing, but what exact segment of the getting better constitutes a learned experience? I suppose something learned in english is more like a tip then, a subtle reminder to remember to look for deeper meaning, such as the visual metaphor posters, man did I have to do some soul searching to pull that stuff out of my head and put it into words. We did the puzzle board, with symbols (because you have looked at so many of them I assume) and symbolism I believe is so very often just little hints and abstract that you can go off the rails in conspiracy before you realize that the river is just a metaphor for crossing over, and not the blue is representative of the blue eyed giant in The Game Of Thrones, who gave birth to the world. I suppose we learned to take that wall of pictures, and words with yarn connecting them all in a tangled mess, straighten them out, and speak them in a coherent way, I think that’s a pretty useful skill even if that’s not exactly what the task was designed to do. This first week i learned what to expect from AP Literature as a class. When we get into groups to discuss a poem, or writing I really enjoy hearing some of the more profound thoughts from my classmates. When I hear them it kind of pushes my competitive nature in a certain way (not saying that there's a better, or best answer), but it makes me want to answer a question in a thorough way so that I don't sound like i'm trying to be a try hard profound amateur poet. Along with that I don't mind over analyzing these poems, surprisingly, I thought it'd be mind numbing but when I try to really look for a pattern, it can be fun. Which really got me thinking about how I view what I am better at, often times if you're accomplished at an activity the first time, or tend towards a subject because it's easy, people tend to reaffirm that choice to work at what you're good at, and ignore what you aren't. I have always been good with the sciences, not because I am above every other student in intelligence, only that my interests are almost always involved heavily in the sciences, so I never thought of myself as a writer or being able to be poetic; possibly by the end of the year I may be quite the poet, writing about building roads and the all soul consuming black hole at the center of our galaxy. Oh yea here's a super hopeful video about the supermassive blackhole in our galaxy.
