Logan can both be a phenomenal reader, and the laziest English student imaginable. Whenever a book is assigned the gods roll a dice on whether or not he even attempts to read the first paragraph and again on whether or not he finishes it. He knows he should read these, he knows it's important, but why slog through a book that is just not interesting enough to hold his attention for thirty minutes a night? to improve his reading ability and stamina of course, but he's human and we all do things that aren't the greatest for us. Though his lack of interest in assigned books is legendary he listens to, and reads at least eight books a year, mostly of the fantasy genre, but recently since his new interest in podcasts history and self help philosophy books have become more prevalent on his completed list during the summer which hes completed about four. his favorite historical podcaster is Dan Carlin, of Dan Carlin's hardcore history, called which because his podcasts are often five or six hours long and go in series of two or more. He thinks he's grown as a reader the past years, his vocabulary is bigger, and his comprehension has grown in that time.
Logan considers himself a writer, maybe not the best, but a writer none the less. He learned to write through some of the books he's read, probably unconsciously copying some form of what hes read, just not as eloquent; and likely all people learn to write from what they read and their predecessors in writing before them. Some people write willingly to sort out their feelings, to publish for money, and perhaps share some piece of knowledge they feel is important for someone else to know, But when Logan writes if hes passionate about it he will put thought and care into every phrase possible. Thoughtful fiction is the kinds of writing he likes, but he doesn't know if he has the writing skill or stamina to put his thoughts into words, and he has never had a reason to put them into a story, its very rare for a teacher to ask for someones best story and instead they ask for certain characteristics in it which may or may not be in someones style to begin with. If Logan is reading a book he sometimes thinks of different ways he could change it, alter the premise, or the meaning of symbolic gestures, which may not be entirely original but hes never really tried to make a great story, just an A worthy one.
